ZOOM AV SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

We are looking for a Zoom AV Support Engineer/Technician with high attention to detail. This position is a part of the Professional Services team and involves working with clients to provide them with installation and support services to revolutionize their conference rooms. This role is for an initial 12 month period with the possibility of extension.

  • Leading Zoom Room installation projects in a manner that ensures quality work, and completing assigned projects on time and on budget;
  • Providing Zoom Room L2 onsite and remote support and resolving support calls as necessary;
  • Performing daily health checks and walk throughs;
  • Provide event support as required;
  • Maintaining technical expertise to the level required to expertly install and configure key product lines;
  • Working to the highest professional standards in terms of timeliness, neatness, attention to detail, customer interaction, and other professional matters that reflect on the reputation of DMS and the quality of our work;
  • Ensuring that all jobs are completed with the highest safety standard for our associates and customers;
  • Interacting with Project Management, Sales and Operations personnel to help coordinate the completion of work to the customer’s specifications:
  • Completing troubleshooting documentation, job-site paperwork, personal timekeeping, and other documentation conscientiously, consistently, and on a timely basis;
  • Documenting daily work activities of team(s) under your supervision, as well as documenting any reasons for delay of work beyond the control of DMS.
  • Leading and training junior installation personnel to become fully-capable Lead Technicians;
  • Maintaining tools, vehicles, and all other DMS equipment and supplies to top performance standards;
  • Consistently maintaining a positive attitude and performing as a team player on a day-to-day basis; and
  • Providing feedback and recommendations to Sales, Technical, and Operations personnel to ensure the continuous improvement of our processes and technical capabilities.
  • At least 1 year’s experience completing Zoom Room installations;
  • Prior 3 to 5 years with Audio Visual (AV) Installations;
  • Ability to solder connections;
  • Know how to terminate and properly test cat 5, 6 and audio video cables;
  • Experience with audio, video and control connections (example DB9, XLR, RJ45, HDMI, etc);
  • Experience with major industry manufacturers including Extron, Crestron, Cisco and Polycom, Clearone, QSC, Biamp audio experience;
  • Possessing the relevant technical skills and leadership experience to effectively manage small to medium-sized teams of technicians;
  • Ability to connect Crestron / Biamp and other control / signal distribution systems to the internet to allow remote engineers access to on-site systems;
  • Ability to read architectural and AV system drawings and make corrections (red-lines) as appropriate;
  • Earning and maintaining the appropriate installation-related certifications on key brands (e.g. Zoom, Crestron) as well as others determined by Senior Management (Cisco, Polycom etc.);
  • Unrestricted ability to climb minimum six-foot ladders;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Windows-based PC and Mac computer systems;

Location
In the US, we are a Texas based organization. Work will require travel throughout the US.

The Telepresence AV Technician will be an integral part our US field engineering team, offering freedom and flexibility as well as a different working environment most days. Working across a number of different client sites you will use your engineering skills and technical knowledge to install and integrate video conference equipment, as well as completing preventative maintenance checks, diagnosis and repair.

  • Installation and configuration of a wide range of video conferencing and integrated audio and video equipment. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Technical skills and understanding of VC solutions and IT network infrastructures.
  • Prior experience in field based VC/ AV engineering within an audio visual/ unified communications and/ or IT networking environment – installing, testing and commissioning audio and video technologies from first fix to end of job sign off.
  • Experience of field based AV/ VC maintenance (break/fix)
  • A clear understanding of Immersive Telepresence, Desktop Telepresence, audio and video systems and their related network infrastructure. Knowledge of video wall and controller options
  • Experience with interactive technologies e.g. whiteboards
  • Ability to work on own or as part of an installation team
  • Provide training and client support to users in the operations of VC/ AV systems
  • Conducting audits, writing reports and completing delivery site surveys
  • Working with and potential management of teams and schedules

The AV Engineer will be an integral part our field engineering team, offering freedom and flexibility as well as a different working environment most days. Working across a number of different client sites you will use your engineering skills and technical knowledge to install and integrate video-conferencing equipment, as well as completing preventative maintenance checks, diagnosis and repair.

  • CTS certified
  • Knowledge in supporting system migrations and experience with AMX and/or Crestron AV control systems. Working knowledge of AV concepts around audio and video signal types, routing, and cabling.
